EuroRender
Description
EuroRender,
when used in conjunction with EuroBond , is a water resistant,
acrylic modified cement based plaster suitable for rendering and
patching over most substrates including clay and cement bricks/blocks,
pre cast or site poured concrete surfaces, calcil bricks, aerated
concrete blocks/panels, painted masonry surfaces, expanded polystyrene
and styrofoam surfaces.(Approved alkali resistant fibre glass
mesh must be used in EuroRender when applied to polystyrene and
Styrofoam surfaces). EuroRender is designed for use as a skim
coat applied in layers ranging from 2mm to 6mm at a time. The
applicator must make sure the surface to be rendered is stable
and free of adhesion inhibiting materials such as dust, grease,
dirt, fungus, mould releasing agents, excessive water etc.. EuroRender
will not display typical sand and cement weaknesses such as “herringbone
cracking” and “drumminess” greatly enhancing
the life of the rendering job, and providing a stable and protective
surface for subsequent coatings of paint, trowelled on coatings
etc.
Eurobond
A
specially prepared liquid additive to increase the adhesion, compressive
and chemical strength of EuroRender and EuroSkim, is added to
the water in various ratios to make up the gauge.
Euro
Bond: Water Ratios for Various Gauges
1. Cement or clay bricks/blocks 1:19
2. Aerated concrete blocks/panels 1:9
3. Pre cast/off form concrete surfaces 3:17
4. Painted surfaces 1:4
5. Expanded polystyrene/Styrofoam 1:4
NB: EuroBond must be used in the correct ratios in the gauge to
mix EuroRender
Mixing
Instructions
EuroRender
can be mixed (with the correct EuroBond/water gauge) by mechanical
mixer or with the traditional concrete mixer. Add the required
volume of gauge to the mixing bucket or concrete mixer then steadily
add the EuroRender until a mixture that will hold a stiff peak
on the hawk is achieved. Too soft a mixture will run off the hawk
and takes too long a time before the surface can be finished up,
too hard a mix becomes difficult to apply and finish.
Application
Having
made sure the surface is clean, apply the mixture to the substrate
using a steel trowel, taking care to spread the coat evenly. The
surface can then be ruled off with an “English Feather”
or conventional straight edge to level the surface. When the material
has firmed sufficiently it can be floated with a large plastic,
polystyrene or wooden float. On completion of this process, the
area can be again floated with a small hard PVC float to flatten
and smooth the surface even further.
On surfaces where some shrinkage of the applied product may occur
(such as raked out brickwork), a first coat of EuroRender can
be applied and straight edged and left for sufficient time for
the shrinkage to occur, then a second thin coat of EuroRender
or EuroSkim can be applied and floated. Please click the following

Coverage
When
mixed and applied in the correct manner, 20Kgs of EuroRender should
cover from 2 – 5 square metres, depending on how thick the
layer and how straight and true the substrate is. EuroRender should
not be applied during extremely hot or windy conditions and should
be protected from rain or run off from downpipes and the like.
Product
Speifications
The
builder and the renderer must make themselves aware of the instructions
contained in the product specification sheets concerning EuroRender.
If there is any concern regarding the finish or the quality of
the substrate, a test area should be applied and Approved
Safety
Instructions
- Freshly
mixed concrete, mortar, grout and cement slurry are irritating
and corrosive to the eyes and skin and may cause irritation including
alkaline burning and dermatitis.
-
Avoid contact with the skin by wearing suitable clothing and PVC
gloves. In the event of contact, wash skin immediately with clean
water to minimise possible irritation.
-
If any material gets into the eyes, wash immediately and repeatedly
with clean water or eye wash solution. If irritation persists
seek medical attention.
- Do
not breath the cement dust or dust created from cutting or abrading
hardened concrete, mortar, grout or slurry as it contains various
quantities of crystalline silica which could irritate the respiratory
system and may cause bronchitis, silicosis or lung cancer.
- When
cutting or abrading hard concrete or mortar, keep it wetted to
avoid creation of dust.
-
Avoid breathing dust by using a suitable respirator. Wash clothes
regularly and separately from other clothes.
-
Manual handling of bags without due care and attention may result
in personal injury. If you have not been trained in the manual
handling of heavy loads it is recommended that you share the load
with another person.
-
Carefully dispose of excess product and packaging by collecting
it in containers for disposal as trade waste in accordance with
local authority guidelines.
