Proyalbi is a pre packed, quality controlled fine powdered off
white render, that
mixed with water can be applied by projection machinery or by
hand, directly onto brick, AAC and concrete walls etc.
It has the unique ability of being able to be applied at various
thicknesses from 1 to 100mm in one coating, and yet will notdisplay
the usual sand and cement weaknesses such as cracking, “herringboning”
and drumminess. It can be applied and finished at a much faster
rate than traditional render and set applications.
Due to the nature of building sites, set walls are often damaged
by other trades. This is a major problem with traditional set
finishes but not with Proyalbi and Fino Plus, as a quick skim
of Fino Plus over damaged areas leaves the surface ready for painting
saving time and money.
Preparation
The Builder and Applicator must make certain that the receiving
surface area,
(be it clay or cement bricks or blocks, AAC Blocks or panels,
poured concrete walls or ceilings etc.) are clean and free of
adhesive inhibiting
materials such as dust, grease, dirt, fungus, mould releasing
agents, excessive water etc.
Surface areas such as FC Sheet, Polystyrene etc. must first be
coated with EuroRender and alkali resistant Fibre Glass Mesh prior
to Proyalbi being applied. Expansion and differential surface
joints must be expressed. Should you wish, please contact our
head office for consultations concerning Proyalbi and Fino Plus
applications.
Mixing Instructions
When applying by machine, water is supplied to the machine and
it automatically mixes and sprays the product onto the wall.
When mixing by hand, Proyalbi and Fino Plus can be prepared in
a bucket by drill, in a conventional cement mixer or by trowel
on a table. In all cases pure clean water must be used.
Application
Having made certain the surface is clean the product can be troweled
or sprayed on to the thickness required, and immediately ruled
off with an English Feather straight edge to provide a flat surface.
The face is then left until it is starting to firm to the touch,
whereupon it is sponged either by a hand sponge or with a variable
speed electric sponge. If the face has firmed up to much, it can
be misted with water to “bring it back”.
The surface is then worked with a steel trowel to bring it to
a smooth state.
A final coat of Fino Plus is then applied when the Proyalbi coating
has firmed up before it goes fully dry. This Fino Plus application
is mixed to a very liquid consistency and applied by steel trowel
as a thin watery coat to give a high quality finish.
This same Fino Plus mixture is used to repair any damage to walls
caused prior to painting as mentioned in
the 'Description'.
Fino
Plus can be applied over sand and cement render that is straight
and true. Two
or three coats will be needed to achieve a high quality finish
that is harder and stronger than traditional set finishes, with
no otherworries creating the mix.
Painting
over Proyalbi and Fino Plus
Proyalbi and Fino Plus surfaces must be primed with an oil based
sealer. Subsequent coatings can then be as the owner requires.
Coverage
The coverage is wholly determined by the thickness required on
the wall.
